Ground and Soil Stabilisation

The need for a strong foundation under your home should not be underestimated. Soil Washout is a serious erosion concern that happens when water comes underneath the concrete and moves some of the soil away. Soil washouts, in the long term, can lead to destabilised foundations. A collapsing foundation can cause catastrophic damage and extensive repair costs. Being proactive can prevent this from happening. If you’ve got problems with sinking foundations, you should act quickly to keep your building stable and safe.

This is where Geobear comes in. Our team of ground engineering contractors provide homeowners with expert soil stabilization services. These specialists deal with whatever ground type or foundation you’ve got. No matter the type of soil under your home – be it clay, sand or any other variety – Geobear can help.

What is Soil Stabilisation?

Ground stabilisation or soil stabilisation is the process of making changes to the soil to improve the soil’s strength. Ultimately, it allows soil to hold more weight and increases its tensile strength. This creates a more reliable basis for building and construction works and can remedy existing issues with earth and subsoils that are causing problems. There are various different methods of soil stabilisation available. At Geobear, we use geopolymer resin injection, the most modern and effective type, for our soil stabilisation services.

Geopolymer vs Older Methods

The geopolymer method of stabilization is the future when it comes to underpinning. Cement underpinning is inconvenient and costly. In fact, it’s a much slower process than resin injection and often costs more money than our fast, non-intrusive resin injection method. Concrete requires a massive amount of excavation for it to work. You need to remove a load of the soil around and under the existing foundation in order to fill more space with concrete. This means that it takes a long time to finish. Resin, on the other hand, requires little or no excavation – it is injected via small holes bored into the soil all around the foundation.

Stabilisation with Resin Injection

Here at Geobear, we use an innovative resin injection method for stabilizing buildings. Our soil stabilization services are the first option for making your foundations secure and preventing them from sinking any further. Our injection solution for soil stabilization is a controlled process in which geopolymer resin is injected into the ground to prevent movement. The stabilization process uses resin injected at points beneath a slab, pad, or foundation. Then, the injected material expands to fill any voids in underlying soils and compact any existing made ground.

How the Soil Stabilisation Process Works

Our ground engineering and improvement solution is an engineered procedure, whereby the bearing capacity of foundation soils is either continuously improved down to considerable depths or just at one specific depth, by the injection of expanding geopolymer resins. We model a design solution based on soil investigation analysis and other site variables. The procedure allows densification and compaction of the soil directly under the foundation, without the need for excavation, vibration or mechanical force.

Geobear ground improvement can be a fast and cost-effective alternative to piling and underpinning. It’s achieved by the controlled application of the forces generated by the expansion of unique Geobear geopolymer. Improvement, carried out by the team at Geobear, is a convenient and reliable process that enables customers to continue their normal operations during remediation works, saving you time and money.

How do we resolve subsidence in just 2 days?

OUR EXPERTS DRILL SMALL HOLES IN THE AFFECTED AREA

At just 5/8″, the holes we drill are usually smaller than a dime and we typically don’t even need access to the inside of your home.

WE INJECT A SPECIAL GEOPOLYMER RESIN INTO THE HOLES

Our technicians expertly inject a special geopolymer resin that will expand and harden to support and lift your property.

THE RESIN INSTANTLY HARDENS LIKE CONCRETE

In just 15 minutes, the geopolymer resin is 90% cured and has expanded to fill any voids and stabilize the ground.

THE PROPERTY IS RAISED AND FOUNDATIONS STABILISED

You’ll see the results instantly. In most cases, cracks will disappear and doors will unstick as we gently raise the property.
